Letters, 1922-1960.

Nine letters, some handwritten some typed and all signed, to Alfred Harcourt. Letter 1922, asks Alfred for a loan of $600.00 to help him buy land next to his house in Elmhurst. Letter, 1927, tells him that has accepted an invitation to read a poem at Harvard but declined an invitation to speak on Lincoln at the National Republican Club of New York City. Also includes a note of condolence on the death of Alfred's mother, a note on hearing of a serious accident involving "Hake" Hastings, his writing, books, and personal experiences. One letter, 1961, from Ellen to Sandburg re: some of Sandburg's papers left in Alfred's possession and Sandburg's response to her.
